Snegurochka – The Snow Maiden by Russian State Ballet Mari El | Meyana Theatre, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai

Snegurochka – The Snow Maiden is a classical ballet production presented by the Mari State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre and the State Dance Ensemble "Mari El", coming to Meyana Theatre at Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai. Inspired by Alexander Ostrovsky's timeless tale, the production tells the story of Snegurochka, the Snow Maiden, daughter of Frost and Spring, who is born immortal but longs to experience love. When she is finally granted this gift, she discovers that love comes at a price.

The ballet combines classical dance, vibrant folk dance and music by Pyotr Tchaikovsky and Grigory Arkhipov. Spectacular photorealistic stage designs by Boris Golodnitsky create a magical setting featuring frozen forests, shimmering ice palaces and blooming spring gardens. The production is led by choreographer Konstantin Ivanov, Honoured Artist of Russia, alongside Alexander and Elizaveta Selivanov.

The Russian State Ballet Mari El brings this winter tale of love, sacrifice and the fleeting beauty of happiness to Dubai on Sunday, 10 January 2027, with performances at 2 PM and 7 PM. The company's international performances have included the Historic Stage of the Bolshoi Theatre and festivals in Cannes, Venice and Berlin. Tickets are available through Platinumlist.
