രക്തദാനത്തിന് ഗ്രൂപ്പ് സാമ്യം വേണമെന്നതുപോലെ അനുയോജ്യമായ ദാതാവിനെ കണ്ടെത്തണം. സാമ്യമുളള ദാതാവിനെ ലഭിക്കാനുളള സാധ്യത പതിനായിരത്തില്‍ ഒന്നുമുതല്‍ 20 ലക്ഷത്തില്‍ ഒന്നുവരെയാണ്. അതുകൊണ്ട് തന്നെ കൂടുതല്‍ പേര്‍ സാമ്യം പരിശോധിച്ചാലാണ് ദാതാവിനെ ലഭിക്കാനുളള സാധ്യതയും കൂടുന്നത്.

സ്റ്റെം സെല്‍ ദാനത്തിനുളള നടപടികള്‍ വളരെ ലളിതമാണ്. രജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്യുന്നവരുടെ കവിളിന്‍റെ ഉളളില്‍ നിന്ന് അണുവിമുക്തമാക്കിയ പഞ്ഞി ഉപയോഗിച്ച് ഉരസി സാംപിള്‍ ശേഖരിക്കും. 18 വയസ് മുതല്‍ 55 വയസുവരെയുളളവര്‍ക്ക് റജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്ത് പരിശോധനയില്‍ പങ്കെടുക്കാം. അപ്പോള്‍ തന്നെ മടങ്ങിപ്പോകാം. സാമ്യം പരിശോധിച്ച് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് ലഭിക്കാന്‍ 45 മുതല്‍ 60 ദിവസങ്ങള്‍ വരെയെടുക്കും. ഒരിക്കല്‍ റജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്ത് പരിശോധിച്ചവര്‍ക്ക് വീണ്ടും പരിശോധന നടത്തേണ്ടതില്ല. ഇന്ത്യയില്‍ നിന്ന് ഇതിനകം ഏഴ് ലക്ഷത്തോളം പേര്‍ സന്നദ്ധദാതാക്കളായി റജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.

രാജ്യത്തെ ബ്ളഡ് സ്റ്റെം സെല്‍ ഡോണര്‍ റജിസ്ട്രി, ദാത്രിയിലൂടെ തിരുവനന്തപുരം കിംസ് ആശുപത്രിയിലാണ് ദാതാവിനെ കണ്ടെത്താനുളള ക്യാംപ് നടത്തുന്നത്. ഒാഗസ്റ്റ് 17 , 18 തീയതികളില്‍ രാവിലെ 10 മുതല്‍ 3 വരെയാണ് ക്യാംപ് നടത്തുക.
