Events Around Me

Narmada Movement Through the Lens of Oral History is a session in the Let’s Talk series presented by Kochi Biennale Foundation, featuring writer and oral historian Nandini Oza. The event will explore how oral history brings forward the experiences and voices of people whose stories are often excluded from written records and dominant narratives of social movements. The session will take place at Sacred Heart College, Thevara.
Deeply involved with the Narmada Bachao Andolan, Nandini Oza will discuss the importance of oral history in understanding the Narmada struggle, including the experiences it makes visible, the histories it brings into the record, and the ways memories can challenge official narratives of development.
The session is scheduled for 16 October at 11:00 AM. The programme is presented by Kirloskar and supported by the Department of English, Sacred Heart College, Thevara. All are welcome to attend.
